Many teachers in rural Uganda and South Sudan are unqualified volunteers. We provide training in basic teaching and lesson planning, as well as more advanced skills, to improve teaching provision.

  • Teacher training workshops in lesson planning, classroom methodology and child-centred teaching.
  • Phonics training for nursery and lower-primary teachers.
  • Training in reading aloud, library management and learning through play.
  • Teaching resources, manuals and learning aids provided.
  • Classroom observations and follow-up support supervision.
  • Partnerships with teacher training colleges and District Education Offices.
