Our Mission is to transform schools in sub-Saharan Africa into effective and thriving teaching and learning environments — schools in which skilled and motivated teachers are supported by parents and the community in providing quality education.
African Revival was founded by Tony Allen following many years of engagement with communities across East and Southern Africa. Inspired by the resilience, talent and potential he encountered, and through experience supporting projects in health, education and access to clean water in Malawi and Zambia, he established African Revival in 2000, with the charity formally registered in 2005. Since then, the organisation has worked alongside local communities in sub-Saharan Africa, to improve access to quality education, recognising that lasting change is driven by local knowledge, leadership and priorities. Our work is currently focused in Uganda and South Sudan.

In South Sudan, we deliver projects from Uganda, providing oversight through our team and working in partnership with contractors and other NGOs. Our UK office focuses on fundraising, communications, and programme support – all to enable the work of our dedicated staff in the field.
