Scholastic Materials

African Revival – Investing in Education – has supported schools with provision of scholastic material for both pupils and teachers.  We have also refurbished blackboards and supplied other materials i.e. chalk, pens, paper, computers.

In 2020 we established a partnership with Book Aid International who have donated thousands of age appropriate fiction and non-fiction books.  These have been delivered to schools, or are earmarked for future distribution, in Gulu, Nwoya, Amuru, Kitgum, Koboko, and Lamwo Districts.

Our aim is to improve the quality of education, helping teachers improve pupil literacy rates and encourage a life long love of reading.

As you can see from the picture above, the books are very well received by pupils.

Testimonial from Reagan Ayella, pupil at Lutuk Primary School, Nwoya District:  “We have never had these books – it is my first time to read about sea animals, we appreciate these books.  These books have make me know about other continents apart from Africa with different animal species.  Before it was difficult to spell and write words correctly, but after the books were distributed, I learnt how to spell and write some words correctly”.

Reading Clubs

Our partnership with schools who receive books from African Revival – Investing in Education – agree to set up ‘reading clubs’.  We work with the Head Teacher and Senior Leadership Teams, stressing the importance of establishing good reading habits and allocating time for this to take place.  We sign partnership contracts to outlines expectations.

As part of our ongoing monitoring we don’t want to see these precious resources locked away, we want to see the books have been, and are being used appropriately.  We are then likely to provide the schools with additional resources when funding permits.
