Teachers are absolutely vital to ensure children in school are learning. We have been supporting teachers’ salaries in South Sudan, as the government stopped payments during the conflict, and we have also been paying teachers in refugee camps in Northern Uganda. Community schools receive no government support and due to limited funds sometimes struggle to pay and retain good teachers.
